    Masterlink gateway and LC2

As I understand the masterlink gateway receives all commands on the masterlink bus. It interprets the command and send it to the appropriate device may be in the link room. Or to the home automation system over the ethernet or rs232. Also it can send a comand from the home automation system to the masterlink.

But what about LC2? E.g. if you have a LC2 in a link room can it be controlled in the main room? Is there a sender device for masterlink commands available? Or is it not possible?

The background of the question is if I would buy a masterlink gateway and I don't have a home automation system can I benefit from the light control (with LC2)? I think the possibility to control the B&O system with the iPhone is a nice alternative.  But it will give you more possibilities if the LC2 can be controlled. And a really good solution would be if the FS20 system (radio control) is supported.

LC2s cannot be control from a different room, as, as you said, their is no IR emitter.

    Re: Masterlink gateway and LC2

You can control LC2s all over the house using a BS7000, BS6500, BS4500 (2 way), BC9500, BC2500... and an MCL linksystem. It`s possible to program global light settings - using LINK LIGHT commands. Also works timer controlled. I managed to control the blinds from different rooms via MCL system and a Lintronic relay box.

In a MLGW system it should work using Lintronic boxes, triggered by RS 232 commands and sending Beo LIGHT commands....(?)

This is theoretically correct, though our use of Lintronic products is very limited so there's no tested version of this solution that I know of.

Right. But there is a good chance that it will work, because as far as I know, Lintronic is on the MLGW list of compatible 3rd party products.
