I'm taking my MX2000 to the summer house and got a new (old) Humax STB to use with it. It has a programmable remote which is able to control the most basic functions of a lot of televisions (on/off, volume), so you can for the most part live without touching the remote of the TV.

I'm sure there's no hope for it to able to use the later B&O 455 kHz remote standard, but is the Mars bar of MX2000 similar to something else that I could try? There's no mention of Nordmende in the code list, and the three different codes given for ITT didn't work either.

On/off would not be a big problem, but the Humax doesn't have any kind of volume control in itself.

Could you not turn the problem around the other way and use a universal remote that does both?

That would be a solution, but I'm afraid such a remote would cost me more than the MX and Humax put together

I could also get another STB with integrated volume control and use the Humax elsewhere. It has the advantage that the tuner is so sensitive that a 20 cm loose wire will do as an aerial...
