    beocentre 9000

    Hi there,

My CD player on the 9000 has recently started to make some intermittent loud scratching sounds and then after a few seconds stops completely. I've cleaned the lens with an ALLSOP Cleaner disc but no improvement.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Sounds like the little plastic bit with the spring that holds the cd in place has broken. Unfortunately this is very common and there is no replacement part available. It means that your 9000 might well have played its last cd and is now only good for tapes, radio and plugging your ipod into. Sorry!

If the center plastic springy thingy is broken, find yourself a ring magnet and put it on top of the center of the CD when you play it. Works for me.

Also, mine has gotten where it won't play certain CD's now, which I'm betting is pesky "C2103". I got the replacement kit from Martin, but haven't had the time to do it yet. Depending on what your problem is, you might look into that as well.

    Hope that helps.
