    Beomaster 5000 problem

    Hello!

I'm new to this forum and B&O products in general, i recently bought beomaster 5000 and RL60 together on ebay for a cheap price. But when buying it, no cables/connections or manual came with it. Now i got all cable and connections for aux and turntable, but i can't get the beomaster to work, whenever i plug it in there's a tiny dot on the screen, and when i press "store" it starts blinking "P". I have been searching a lot on the internet on how to make it work, also a lot on this site, but i cant find any solutions. help!

The tiny dot is the standby indicator.
To switch the Beomaster ON, you need to select a source like f.e. FM, Tape or Phono.
STORE is for storing preset stations once tuned in.

Thanks for letting me know it is the standby indicator, as you can tell i have no knowledge of how it works. although when i do press phono, while having my turntable connected and running, nothing happens.

    try turning the volume down

    look for the [v] key

if the beomaster shows 00 then you know to turn the volume up

should not need more than say 35 as a volume level - certainly do not go to the max of 72

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    that is not so good

    you should see PH

try pressing [TAPE] to see if you get TP

    pressing [P1] should get P1

even without the aerial see if you can hear static

    Re: Beomaster 5000 problem

It's very common to see the front panel of the BM5000 completely disabled by a broken ribbon cable
    inside the Beomaster.
I suggest you try using a remote, that'll be a Terminal 5000 or a Master Control Panel 5000
if you have one of them.
