Beotalk 1200 wont record announcement or message

Hi. I bought the Beotalk 1200 privately. When trying to record an announcement I push the middle button to record a message the timer counts while I speak. But when I push it again it flashes 0:00 and there's a click and a  dash (-) appears to the left of the screen for a few seconds before the time and date re-appears. When I call to test, it rings and picks up but no announcement is heard. I leave a message and hang-up but nothing flashes on the Beotalk to suggest a message has been recorded. Any ideas? Thanks very much for any help you can give.

Hi You can search these forums to learn how to master reset the machine (can't remember offhand). Failing that you might need a new circuit board. I've just had one fitted costing approx £130.

sounds a bit like the problem I had with mine some time ago - and yes I also needed a new circuit board at a cost of about £120+ - loathed to pay it but I did and it has worked fine since then - I actually really like the beotalk 1200, lots of features and relatively easy to use - after spending a little (a lot actually!!) of time reading the manual Wink

    regards, Hugh
