BeoLink PC 2 - no firmware upgrade possible

I own a BeoLink PC 2 since ages - and it still runs on the original firmware it came with, version 1.18. I tried to upgrade the firmware using BM-Link, but it failed with the error message

"There was an error updating the firmware. The following error was reported: Failed to write data".

Is there a way to fix this - apart from buying a new Beoport?

I would try and install the free Beoport/Beoplayer on a PC and do the update from there. Or take it to your dealer, they always have a PC with Beoplayer on it.
