    PROBLEMS 'speaker 1' Beomaster 5000 (Beosystem 5000)

    Hello 'Beophiles' Big Smile ,

I've problems with the right output of 'speaker 1' of my beosystem 5000.

There's only sound on the left, but with headphones I have sound on the left as well as on the right!

    What may be the cause?

    All connectors/Din fiches are OK!

Initially there wasn't also nothing to hear on the left, but after repeatedly put in and out the headphones at max loudness, it was OK for the left?!

What's the connection between this (if there is one) ?

I hope anyone can help me!

    Regards, Bruno Destickere

It is the muting relay. One or both channels can stick. It needs either taking apart and cleaning or replacing.

    Peter,

Thanks a lot for quick answer!

I'll check it, but now it is OK!!

Initially there wasn't also nothing to hear on the left, but after repeatedly put in and out the headphones at max loudness, it was OK for the left, now it is also OK for the right!! I am a lucky boy... .

I've done it with max loudness and balance complete to the right... . After a few times in and out and turning around, it was Ok.

    What may be the cause??

    Thanks,

    Bruno Destickere

I agree with Peter, it's the mute relay. The only real solution is to replace it.

When this happened with my Beomaster 5000, repeatedly hitting the Mute button and thus engaging/disengaging the relay cleaned up the contacts and it worked faultlessly afterwards. You could try this and see what happens...
