    Beocenter 9500 speaker 1 R channel missing

    Hi

     

    my BC 9500 has lost the right channel on speaker 1 speaker 2 ok and headphones ok?? This wouldnt be too much of an issue except I like to listen to the headphones and I cant switch off speaker 2? Any ideas on whats wrong and ways around the headphone issue?

    Your mute relay has failed. Very common fault.

    They do say that the contacts can be cleaned but I believe that replacement is the only real answer.

    just typed in mute relay into search and got all the answers. How do I go about ordering one ?? Are they still available

    Rough cost of repair with B&O ??

    Still available from B&O as mute relay for BC9300. It is the same item!

    They are expensive (around £20) but equivalents will be cheaper from Radiospares or Farnells.

    I would guess 2-3 hours labour charge.

    I have seen it happen after tipping on MUTE 20 to 50 times it worked again.... magic?
