No IR to Humax iCord HD

With Configtool 3.0 I added Humax iCordHd as a product from the PUC Sources.

I didn't connect the Humax with the IR-cable/eye because the Humax is not hidden behind a shelf so that's not necessary.

From previous discussions I have learned that the Beo5 can directly send commands (RC5, NEC, Bitstream ..).

But unfortunately the Humax don't give any response when I press the commands from my Beo5 display.

    Keith, help ...!

You will need the IR cable, because your Beo5 controls the Beovision and the BV controls your stb.

Otherwise you need a template for third party products to control the Humax directly.

    Thanks Stefan,

Is it possible to 'translate' that PUC in a way that it can control the Humax directly?

With the third party products I cannot use all the navigation and command keys and colored rings on the Beo5-ball.

My goal is to control the Humax direct with the full use of the Beo5 keys and not everything from the display.

"My goal is to control the Humax direct with the full use of the Beo5 keys and not everything from the display."

What do you mean by "...not everything from the display." ?? If you are talking about the little PUC menu on the left side of your BV, this one is for the PUC  control and not every button working with your stb is listed here. For eyample for my stb (Lyngbox) Go is enter, GO-GO is play. GO - LEFT is fast forward...I recommend this way to control peripheral units, especially if you have link rooms.

Re: No IR to Humax iCord HD

Sorry, Stefan, a little misunderstanding. I mean the Beo5-display and not my BV display.

My experience with the ClarkeTech STB third-party.xml was that all the commands were bundled on the Beo5-display as buttons (OK, Mute, Channel+-, Volume +-). That's not the way I want to use the Beo5.

Of course, using the PUC .xml is a better solution, but my BlueRay player is alredy using the PUC-'place'. Switching from one PUC to another is not the most comfortable option! My BC 6-26 has only one IR-output!

Again my question: is it possible to translate or convert the Humax iCord HD PUC-.xml in any way to control that STB direct without a PUC/IR-eye and with the use of most keys form the beo5-wheel?

Hope this is a better explanation...

    Hi Pim

You can use a PUC "expander". I don't know it's correct name, but is a object that converts one PUC in two.

    Is a piece like this:

Re: No IR to Humax iCord HD

Indeed that's a possible solution to send the IR-codes to DVD and STB. I hope that the commands are not the same!

But left is switching between the two: configuring my Beo5 for that job is very difficult. The Beo5 is not aware which PUC is active and therefore will probably switch to the wrong one!

    Any solution?

Re: No IR to Humax iCord HD

The "expander" made by B&O has two colours. Silver and Gold. I don't remember which one is for STB and which one for DVD, but if you press DVD the IR codes go only to one of both, and if you press V.AUX the IR codes go to the another one. I bet there is no way to send the codes to both sources. This happens, at least, with the BV Avant.

But maybe I'm wrong. Please, can someone confirm it?

Re: No IR to Humax iCord HD

Okay, I will ask my dealer for the right one. If someone has any details, please let it know.

Now back to Beo5 config. Here comes the next problem: in the setup menu (BC 6-26) under "Connections" is AV1 pointed with V.MEM to my HD1.  AV2 should be pointing with DVD to my BD-player and AV3 should be pointing with STB (V.AUX) to my STB.

Both the DVD (Sony BlueRay) and STB (ICord) are dependent on a PUC to receive the correct IR-commands. But only STB (V.AUX)-option gives me the possibility to select a PUC for my STB. That's not possible with DVD-option because there is no 'next'-screen ....

How can I setup my second PUC for the BD-player?
