    Beogram 1700 cover fixings

Hi, I need to refit the acrylic cover to my 1700 but can't work out how the balnce springs attach to the lid. Can anyone help? Tim

Isn't there only one position anyway?

However, I happen to have a disassembled one lying around somewhere (still trying to polish out some scratches). Can take some photos tomorrow if that helps you.

A common question! If you do some pictures, I'll put this thread somewhere where it can be referred to! Easier to show in pictures than decribe - essentially it is best to have three hands!

So here's a small photo story of how to refit a BG 1700 cover (sorry for the bad quality):

First of all, assemble the parts as shown in the photo - thats the easy part.

Now attach the middle holder, but don't tighten the screw completely (but almost completely).

Then force the left end of the spring back into his channel (or however you call that thing in english - I hope you understand what I mean). By the way, that yellow stuff in the picture is glue - I had to reattach the three metal brackets.

Then attach the holder there, tighten the screw completely; do the same thing for the right end of the spring; tighten the middle holder completely, and you're done. Smile

Very well done and explained - you missed the bit where the brackets flies into the air and the dog runs off with it but that is just a detail! Laughing

I'll put this somewhere useful! The major problem with these decks is that the plastic becomes brittle with age and some strong glue is needed to mend it.
