    Beoconnect or Beoplayer?

    Hi,

I am using an iMac and therefore use Beoconnect to transfer music etc. But I have heard people mentioning additional functionality available using Beoplayer. It would be easy to install XP on my mac and then use Beoplayer but would it offer benefits not available to the very simple (I like simple) operation of the Beoconnect. Of course I could use both but what are the advantages?

    Many thanks

    Gary

    Re: Beoconnect or Beoplayer?

I like simple too. You are right, Beoconnect is very simple. It`s just for transferring music, pics, bookmarks to BM5.

With Beoplayer you can listen to the music on your BM5 via your mac independantly from your Beolink system.

I use Beoplayer to rip CDs on my macbook or mac mini and  let it transfer the files at the same time to my BM5. Very simple. Insert CD, wait for titles and cover and press COPY...

It`s also nice to listen to the BM5 music in the garden. Just take a macbook, connected wireless to BM5, to the garden and enjoy. If you want to listen to N.RADIO you have all the stations of your BS5 on your mac.

It`s also possible to transfer music directly to my serenata.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Stefan I might try that. Now my next issue is to get to grips with all the commands that I see people referring to in this forum. Like left, left, right, go!! I'm assuming they are referring to the Beo4/5 or Beosound5 commands but my user guide is a bit light on this stuff.

    Thanks again

You can press RIGHT - LEFT - RIGHT - LEFT - GO directly on the BS5 to get the service menu. You won`t find these commands in the user guide, but maybe you consider to upgrade to gold membership, so you will have every manuals you need....
