External power supply, Beolit 600, specifications

I have decided to find an external power supply, not the original, for my beolit 600 and want to check that I get the right specifications. The service manual states 7.5 Volt and 2 Watt for the external power supply. According to my less than perfect electronic skills this gives (2/7.5)=0.267 Ampere or 267 mA which should indicate that a power supply rated at 1200 mA and 7.5 Volt would work. Could someone more skilled than myself confirm this.

Is the center pin + or -? From the service manual it looks like minus is center but it is a red cable, strange.

    Tanks
