Dear all,
I think I am nearly there...
The old house is wired in MCL and in the bedrooms where we have BV6 or newer MX4000 TVs they are happily co-existing with type 1615 beolink converters, radio cd etc throughout the house - I love it.
The union of the BS7000 and BS2 seems more or less sorted as I can channel the sound from the BS2 to speakers in the kitchen for instance so the faithful MCL wires are still doing their job. A challenge to face will be the RF signal, but I am fairly well down the route of sorting that one too. So the Datalink cable from the BS7000 via a type 1611 beolink converter and a short length of ML cable to the BS2 seems to be working fine. so far so good.
The issue I have is in the lounge where, as a result of not having any Beolab speakers (I have them in the office and I don't really want to dismantle that set-up), I have been relying on my Beovox pentas. No issue so far as I have them connected to the BS2 via a MCL/ML type 1651 converter and they sound fine for the interim until I get myself a set of beolab sourround sound speakers (they are on my Christmas list). Santa are you listening? I say no issue so far as I have bridged the first hurdle and spent a good few hours checking plugs instructions etc, until I realised that the power link cable wasn't a type 2 - doh! That sorted I now have a green light on the converter and sound! Horrah.
Tiny steps, thanks if you have bothered reading this far...
So now I have no speakers connected to the BS7000 (the three pin speaker2 sockets have my MCL cables plugged in) they seem to be ok still as I have sound round the house. BTW the BS2 is set to Option 2 and the BS7000 to Option 0. When I press Radio in the lounge I get sweet FA, If I press Radio when the tele's on the screen goes blank and I still get no sound. If I Press AV Radio, I get the desired sound but the TV picture stays on. No worries if I am watching football on a foriegn satelite station and listening to radio 5, apart from the delay between sound and vision - but that's another story. I don't want to clock up hours on the Plasma screen just so I can listen to the hi fi. Where am I going wrong?
Once this has been sorted the first connection to the BS2 will be the Beomedia1 the cables look straight forward, coloured plugs and coloured sockets I don't anticipate problems (famous last words) BUT I assume I need to rustle up a Y-connection in ML cable to connect BS2, 1611Converter and Beomedia1 so then I can do NETradio in the shower of a morming etc?
I thought a bit of help from you guys might prevent me from going greyer still
Finally what a load of bloody wires! It will only get worse once the DVD1, STB, Video and HDR1 are also connected with power, scart cables and RF aerial wires... Talk about grannies knitting
Thanks in anticipation
Gary
