    Beocord 3300 noise 15 min every time it is started

    Hello!

    I have a problem with my beocord 3300, can anyone help?

    When you turn the Beocord on, the tape-head engauges to the play position (with or with-out a tape in) and the motor drives the tape gear. The noise starts off quite loud and does not get any quieter when the STOP button is pressed. The noise gets quieter and quieter and it takes about 15 minutes for the sound to stop. After the sound stops if you turn the system off and then on again, the noise is loud again and as before takes about 15 minutes to stop. Any idea's about what the problem might be?

    Sincerely,

    Simon Bring

    You don't tell if the noise is mechanical (audible from the unit) or electronic (audible from the speakers) but

    If mechanic;
    Could be a case of worn motor bearings.
    Could also be the mechanics, belt/wheels etc catching on something.
    You will have to open it and have a look.

    If electronic;
    Probably capacitors, the ones in the signal path and around the dolby circuit springs to mind as candidates.

    The noise is mechanical. The strange thing is that it is there again if you turn the machine off and on again...

    I still cannot find anything that seems to be the cause for this mysterious mechanical sound... Has anyone experienced this before?

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Probably the motor but it's very hard to diagnose without having it here to see, listen and feel.
