Hi guys,
Had a home demo on a pair of lab8000's yesterday. I am blown away at the difference, the depth of sound was immense! I am now going to get myself a pair of nice 2nd hand ones, so watch this space!
Might be speaking out of turn, but surely the Dealer who performed the home demo may deserve consideration for your business?
Same thought crossed my mind - he may have some trade in stock so I would ask.
Any Dealer - whether franchised or not - who has taken the time to perform a home-demo should be treated even-handedly IMHO. I can imagine any Dealer being peeved to waste time when - unless notified of the situation beforehand - the potential customer was always going to source the goods elsewhere. As the English say, 'It's just not Cricket!'
If for instance. You were interested in a car and went for a test drive to see if you really liked it, but you always new you woluld never pay the dealer mark up against a second had model privately. Would that not be most peoples way of finding out the ins and outs of an expensive purchase. Not everyone I know but the majority.
Maybe the dealer will reap their rewards at a later date for their efforts!
They knew that beforehand! Plus it was my mate. They fitted a new stb controller chip in my avant, he said he would bring a pair of speakers to demo he is going to look out for a pair for me but he only has a pair of 6000's.
I agree with yourselfs it would be a bit unfair to have him spend 3hrs without a sale.
That explains all - were they Mk1 or MK2 that were demonstrated just out of interest? Thanks
I have never really heard the beolab 8000s pumped but they are on the cards for me this year if I get a contract renewal and I will know about that this month. I hope you get a decent pair. Also what are your guys thoughts on red 8000s? I am completely undecided on them. I know the silver are better but I have found a pair of MK2 in Japan that are pretty cheap.

Is that with the Dolby Prologic Sound Card or the Dolby 5.1 Sound Card?
When I changed mine to the 5.1 card my Penta's sounded very different, although I would have thought it shouldn't have made any difference!
