    Beo4 Remote - Oveurture marry-up issues

    HI guys,

I have joined the forum to try and learn something as it seems there's a lot to these systems and thought as a Silver member I could also hopefully do my bit to keep the site alive and kicking!

My son purchased an Oveurture with Beo4 remote for me recently and I am trying to set it up. I have called Steve from Sounds Heavenly who has organised the cables I require speaker-wise but the Beo4 remote does not work on my Oveurture :-( The batteries are fine i.e. the screen turns on and changes function from TV to CD for instance but my blasted system does not respond!

It was previously married up to an Avant TV I believe so is this an issue? How can I rectify this issue as I only have the Oveurture in terms of B&O gear and would really like to make use of it.

Thank you all for your assistance

Hi and welcome to Beoworld! ...and thanks for the silver level support!

    (2) quick thoughts come to mind and can be validated in this thread, though for a BC9300...

Do you intend to use it unlinked (i.e.) solo?

In summary, your system sounds like it came from a linked setup (married to an Avant)... check your option programming and/or might you have a plasma in the vicinity?

    Re: Beo4 Remote - Oveurture marry-up issues

Maybe the Oveurture is option programmed to ignore remote control commands (option 0).

Beo4s do not really "marry" to equipment so the fact that it was used to control an Avant TV doesn't matter.

    Try this with your Beo4:

    - Press and hold the power button (red dot)

    - press "list" until it displays [OPTION?]

    - let go of both buttons

    - press "Go" until it displays [A.OPT]

    - press 1

This should put the Oveurture into "Option 1" programming which is what it should have (assuming it is a stand-alone system with no Beo TV in the same room and not master linked to other Beo equipment).

Then again, it might be option 2... according to the ML handbook, it should be 2, but the BS4000 manual says 1 is the factory setting.  Maybe both work...

    Stan,

I am getting the same conflicting option numbers as well!

I do believe it should be (1) also...

Heck, try them both... pretty sure that is the issue, whatever the correct number ends up being! ConfusedLaughing

Thank you chaps. I am travelling for the next day or so but eagerly wish to return and see if your kind help can remedy!

Any further input is obviously welcome ;-)

Assuming that the Overture is now "flying solo" either option 1 or 2 is fine; it is certain that it is currently set for option 0.

    We kid because we love.
