Saving my precious Beogram from being junk

Hi all, I'm brand new to this forum.  It is great to see such a large cult!  I hope you can help me and I also think this question has been answered many times before but I don't know it so i will ask anyway.

I have a Beogram 4002 that I bought new in 1977.  It has served me well except that every once in a while the sensor light burns out or at least doesn't work. That has happened again a few months ago.  Not wanting to put my pudgy, unskilled,  shaky fingers too deeply into thie delicate innards of this machine I have tried to find someone in Northern Alberta Canada who can still fix these things but to no avail.

The nearest repairer I could find was in Vancouver which is 1800 kms away.  I am reluctant to send it down due the probability of shipping damage so it sits useless and dusty on my shelf.

I'd like to have it back making beautiful music again.   Is there an easy fix for this probably fairly common problem?

Thank you. I will try to track down the bulb I need.  It doesn't sound too bad at all!
