You really need the original B&O wall brackets which are quite difficult to find these days - and a very strong wall to hang them on!

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

Not so strong!! I hung mine on two houses and they both had studwork walls. As long as one screw is into a stud  then they are fine.

You do need the 140 wall brackets  which are different to the 45/60 brackets and as Chris says are difficult to find these days.

If you want to rotate them here and there, yes - but if fixed perpendicular to the wall is OK, there are other solutions. For a pair of RL6000s, I got two perforated T-shaped steel plates (normally used for reinforcing wood constructs) from a hardware store. A pair of the holes accepted two bolts to the speaker rear mount directly, and the rest was only two hooks on the wall...

And the RL140/7000 aren't that heavy, only 15 kg a piece. An MX4000 with a wall stand weighs much more, and think of the wall mount shelves people have loaded with books...

    Just two points:-

    1. Be aware that bass/mid performance can be affected by positioning of speakers on a wall. Some models of speaker are designed for this, others not. I know the RLs were available with wall brackets, but that doesn't mean the sound would not be affected.

    2. Unless the brackets permit the speakers to be 'angled inwards ', the stereo 'picture' would be unfocussed in a chosen listening position.

Re: RL 140 on the wall

As mentioned the original wall mounts are a way to go.

I used to have a pair of RL 140, with floor stands. The bracket that held the speaker on the floor stand could be taken of and mounted on the wall. I created my own seeling/wall mount solution from wood, and just mounted the bracket from the floor stand on it. It worked fine.

I agree you need a stron wall. You also need to find a way to angle the brackets on the wall, if you want to angle the speakers towards the listening position.
