HI All
I must be the most unlucky beoport owner in the world...
I posted a link recently re DAC/ BEOPORT/ MAC issues. The issue wasdreadful crackling when playing NRADIO and some NMUSIC. Spent hundreds of dollars on cables trying to fix the problem. Anyway, got some very good advice from 'Sound Devices' in Sussex St, Sydney. The advice was... wait for it, just turn the volume down a little on itunes itself!! Seems the BEOPORT and DAC were amplifying everything twice causing a dreadful noise... NOW FIXED, and the sound improvement through the DAC for digital music is great!!!
NEXT PROBLEM..yesterday updated to itunes 8.2 on my mac. Have now lost all functionality of the remote to scroll through my playlists. I called B& O and they said they were aware of this issue but could do nothing to fix the problem. They also stated Anders Odlund was not responding to issues anymore and no update could be provided. B&O head office response was we dont support MAC.
How can it be that beoport is sold as MAC compatible, and is advertised as such on their website.
Will my beoport ever work properly? David Jones, Sydney are very helpful, but seem to be able to do nothing to fix my on going beoport issues. They suggested Beosound 5 might be the solution..but wait, doesnt support Apple Lossless files...........
If anyone has a fix for the itunes problem, other than going back to an earlier version please let me know. Alternatively this post should be a warning not to update your itunes programme!
Regards
David Coyne
