    BeoCentre 9500 to Penta 1

Just wondering if I have to use the speakerlink and is this the best way?

I have read a bunch of threads about making cables etc, eg Powerlink to various others.

    Thanks.

    Great, thanks for the info!.

Got a 9500 arriving in a few days.

I have had the Penta's connected to an Ipod , but it isnt the best. They seam to have alot background noise when playing music, bit muddy. Could this be the caps etc?

Are there any checks I can do to make sure they are performing the way they were designed to.

    Thanks

Have you connected the iPod directly to the Penta by the Line In socket? Make sure you have the iPod's volume limit set to max (so it gives full output). Otherwise it might be too faint for the Pentas. (The iPod output at max is ABOUT the line level so it might be a bit low even at full level. I have a BC9000 with Pentas and if I connect the iPod (volume at max) to the AUX input it needs higher volume levels (in BC) to give enough sound).

I agree about the need to maximise the volume from the iPod. In practice I get better results connecting my iPod to assorted B&O kit when using a powered iPod dock than I do whan using a lead connecting directly to the iPod headphone socket, which has never been satisfactory for me. The dock only cost £20 from Richer Sounds in the UK but it made a huge difference. I then use a lead from Sounds Heavenly to connect the 3.5mm socket at the back of the dock to the B&O system.
