    beoport without an audio master

Can beoport be connected to a computer and a couple of lab 4000s and be controlled by the beo4? or does it require

    an audio master. . .

i.e. in my study can i use my beoport and remote without it being masterlinked in?

    Thanks

    MJM

I'm ready for something new that I actually want to buy!

In the same room you can connect an eye to it and control it with a Beo 4. You cannot, however, run ML to another zone and distribute the N.MUSIC & N.RADIO to that room.

I thought you could set the Beoport as audio master... (on a PC)

Yes, you can use BeoPort without any audio master, I've been doing that for 4 years.

If you have no other B&O master (= video master, for instance), you simply set the BeoPort to option 2, plug the infra-red eye in the box & use your Beo4 for NMUSIC, NRADIO and CD.

You can link the BeoPort to another room, I've had a BeoLab 2000 working like that for almost a year.

The only limitation, when having no audio master, is that if you add a video master (BeoVision) and integrate all with Masterlink, you could control the video sources from your PC/Beo4 via IR eye , but no longer control the BeoPort from your TV, as option 6 on BeoPort with no audio master makes the TV "blind".

In that case the TV should be in option 2, the Beoport in option 0. All speakers connected to the TV and no IR eye on the Beoport. That is if they both in the same room.
