Someone 'in the know' on here mentioned that the MKIV doesn't ship with the new sound board, sadly.
My only worry with the BV7-40 MKIV is the ambiguous DTS HD 7.1 is down-converted to 5.1, on the B&O website. Does that mean that DTS HD 7.1 is downgraded to DTS HD 5.1 or basic Dolby Digital 5.1? If the latter, then it makes a Blu-ray (with uncompressed HD audio) play like a standard definition disc and would make it more poorly performing than my two-year-old Playstation 3. That wouldn't be acceptable. It needs to outperform the old PS3, at least.
I've asked B&O and am waiting on an answer.

Dear All:
Would you please comment on the benefits of BV 7, IV? Besides the Blue Ray player, what else are you getting that is not on the BV 7, III?

There aren't many: 100Hz screen and updated (ie. newer) LCD panel. Perhaps some other minor tweaks that B&O have learnt since the release of the MKIII?
As I said many times, I've seen the BV8-40 and it performs well. Better than my MKIII BV7. With this in mind, I'm assuming the MKIV will definitely be a step up.
I receive mine Tuesday, so I'll let you know. If there are no improvements, I probably won't let you know....as I'll be in tears from a £2900 upgrade ! :)
