I have Beovision 3 and whilst watching the movie 'The DaVinci Code' on TV last night it was completely spoiled by an appalling distorted noise from, in particular, the right hand mid-range speaker in the set. It sounded like the effect you get from a speaker that has 'blown' and affected the music, which runs throughout the film, and a lot of the dialogue. I went into the menu and reduced the bass from +3, to -2 and this helped although it was still evident at times.
I have now restored the bass to the previous settings but switched 'loudness' to off to see if this helps in future.
I have not had this 'problem' before and would like to know if this is a sign that something has gone terribly wrong with the set's speaker(s), or could it be that the dynamics of the sound on this particular movie (too much bass) were just too much for the set to handle?
I know the power and type of amplification in a set is a factor, but surely if the Beovision 3 couldn't handle things then most of the sets from other manufacturers would have exploded!
