Could we set up a poll for the following... ?

I am curious to know which TV has been the more popular as a main room set in recent years:

    1. BeoVision 4
    2. BeoVision 5
    3. BeoVision 6
    3. BeoVision 7
    4. BeoVision 8
    5. BeoVision 9

I have included the BeoVision 6 and BeoVision 8 although I am assuming that these will not have been as popular as a main room television as the other models listed.

Be good if a MOD could get a poll going for this one.

    Thanks,
    Simon.

Surely, taking those TVs listed, and a process of elimination, the BV7 would be the most popular 'main room' TV. As you said, the BC6 or BV8 tends to be a link (spare) room TV (although the BV8-40 should change this), the BV9 is too expensive and large for most customers, whilst the BV5 hasn't been on-sale for a few years (and again, like the BV9, was expensive whilst on-sale).

So, BV7 from that list? If you included the Avant, I think it would be there or thereabouts!

A bit of a vague question Simon as "recent years" for some old fogey like myself means any time since the invention of the round thingy with a straight bit running through middle & connected to another round thingy at the other side - ohh I remember - it's called the wheelBig Smile

if you want a poll on the most popular TV EXCEPTING the Avant (still my absolute favourite) - basically the non - CRT ones, then fair enough.

    Chris.

Yes, why not. Thanks Chris. I think it will be between the BV4 and the BV7 but I have a feeling the BV4 will be quite popular. Only a poll to find out who has bought what will show these results.

    Thanks,
    Simon.

I believe polls have to be set up by moderators - in the last incarnation of the forum, we had a month where so many polls were set up that the site became unworkable as everytime someone voted the poll would rise to the top and there was an understandable tendency for all new members to vote on every poll. The titles gradually became a little desperate as well or repetitive and the general feeling was that it detracted rather than added to the site. We did have a weekly poll for a while but interest flagged in this - I do actually have a poll running here if you want to vote though! Laughing Once the votes hit 50, I will label the cartridge!

How about a poll asking what has been the most pointless question in recent years?

    Hi Dave,

Er... there's nothing to get!! I am simply interested in knowing what the most popular selling TV is in the B&O range, that's all.

Re: Could we set up a poll for the following... ?

Alright, but how is a poll going to reveal what the best selling TV is?? It's more so going to and only can be, a pol on what people think. I think what you're after is a survey, going to every purcheser of a beovision = not possible. Are we rather able to access a data base from B&O that can show the figures on what TV's b&o are selling the hottest?

I see what you mean Dave. Yes it is a survey I wanted and I thought we could do it using a poll method. We don't necessarily need dealer input, only members of this forum who have purchased a new B&O TV in the last 4-5 years. I just wanted to know which TV was the more common sold. I would really like to get a feel of how popular (in terms of sales) the BV4, BV5 and BV9 sets were, compared to BV7 for example?

The most popular tv must be the mx7000. Quality was very good (sorry avant-fans), price was a very strong point (sorry beovision 1-10 fans) and the picture was much better than any other brand ( sorry sony, philips, pioneer, panasonic and.....)

I am waiting for B&O is going to make again tv's who are much better then the other brands for a fair price.

Lets not forget, the beovision 8 is the first B&O lcd what has a normal price, but the quality of the tv is not better then Pioneer or Samsung....

    I want a MX9000 lcd 32 inch Big Smile
