    What Recession?...

Goodness knows what this Beogram 7000 would have sold for if it included a cartridge.

Welcome to the magical, mystical world of BeoGram 7000 valuation! Laughing

A good deck, but worth what they fetch? No way...  Get a Beogram 4000 if you want engineering excellence.

If anyone is wondering what the allure is for the 7000 - it's purely the fact it was the last and therefore newest Tangential deck made by B&O, and it also has an inbuilt pre-amp - which means it can be plugged straight into the AUX socket of any modern B&O system and will work straight away. Bear in mind you will have no remote control of it though!

Not much magical or mystical - it's all down to condition. If the deck is actually like new as described, then the demand would push the price up here as well. In my opinion, £1000 is not out of the question!

I take your point about the BG4000 but at least the BG7000 is likely to work. Most 4000's don't, unless you have the ability to fix them or know a man that can!

The BG7000 does implement datalink so the question of remote control depends on what you connect it to. BS9000 is a no but all the Ouverture series are a yes.

Presumably the lack of datalink on the AUX of the BS9000 must have saved B&O an extra, ooh, 25p in components on a £3000 stereo.

I expect that of lesser brands (and lesser prices), but if I owned an Overture, and decided to upgrade to a BS9000, I'd be cheesed off that the remote control of the turntable stopped working.....
