I am thinking of buying the B&O Beosound 2 MP3 player, but would like to know if it possible to use all capacity SD cards in the player or if there is actually a maximum?

The maximum card you can use for the Beosound 2 is 2GB.

Indeed BS 2 is limited to 2 Gb cards and WMA 192 kbps.

Now that BeoSound 6 & Serenata are being discontinued, don't you think B&O SD-based players need an update??

You can now rip all your Cs in lossless WMA with BeoPort/BeoPlayer/BeoMaster 5, but once that is done, you can't play it back on BeoSound 2, 3, or 4..? And none of the systems can play SDHC cards, which are becoming the norm nowadays..

I do hope B&O comes back with a better product synergy in the near future, 20 years ago all their systems were speaking the same language and that's what made me choose B&O

I could not agree more with your opinion. Although I was very interested in buying a BeoSound 4 once, I decided not to do so, mainly because of the limitations you mentioned. I am very happy with the information on Beoworld about new B&O products in 2009, but I would be equally happy if B&O would publish a list which existing products will be updated. IMO updating the SD capacity etc. in BS4 should be one of them.
