    Beosound 3 sd card issues

Hello to all out there in beoworld land

Can anyone please explain how i can download songs from windows VISTA to the sd card that will be recognized by my beosound 3 at the moment i can not get the player to recognise the format and get two lines on the display and no playback, if however i remove the card and insert the sd card into my pc it works fine. Currently i  use my old desktop which runs windows XP with no problem on downloading and playback but i would prefer to get the vista issue sorted out. please if anyone does reply to this make the explanation VERY simple as i hate PCs menues and folders with a hatered that is hard to comprehend! thanks.

Re: Beosound 3 sd card issues

    Heya

How big of size is the SD card?

And not sure if you are aware of that. Beosound 3 needs directories to work with songs on the SD card. If you simply put music files on the SD card without creating directories it won't work.

EDIT: i did some research, seems like the directory Problem affects only Beosound 2 and 4. But there is something else. If you got Songs with the Cover inside of it, they wont play. This issue only affects Beoplayer 4.65 and higher though (meaning you copy the Songs with the Beoplayer Software to the Beosound 3).

I can confirm that you do not need to use directories when copying files to/from the BS3. I have about 30 wma files in the root directory which play fine. Depends how you want to organise your music. What you should know, and something I discovered only of late, is that the maximum bit rate the BS3 can play is 192 so if you are trying to play wma or mp3 music on it above that rate then forget it.

    Cheers,
    Simon.

    Simon,

I use 320 kbps MP3 files no problem on my BS3. AFAIK, the 192 kbps limit is on WMA files. For MP3 you can go as high as 320 kbps.

Thanks Robert. Very good to know as I experimented mostly with WMA so I will now try MP3. Thanks again!

Hi the size of the sd card is 2 gb  scandisc  when you press amem after a couple of seconds it scrolls through the tracks then goes to A -- its really frustrating also i have beoplayer on the pc but i'm not too sure how to creat directories, sorry if this sounds dumb . but i wish i had my Beocord 3500 so i could at least record something that would playback!!!

Rhanks for you quick response BTW
