Drinks [D] Trip to Struer - all expenses paid?

Yes - it's true!! An all expenses paid trip to Struer..  I thought you may all like to know about this!

BeoWorld found out about this offer, and spoke with Gavin Sykes - owner of BeoWorld Sponsors STB Brackets and also Bang & Olufsen of LincolnEcclesall (Sheffield) and Leicester who explained his ideology in offering this incentive.

BeoSound 5 has been bought mainly by his existing owners and enthusiasts, which makes it clearly evident that early BeoSound 5 customers simply love B&O. So, Gavin chose to make the purchase that little bit more special by adding to the brand experience in a truly unique way.. Read on.

Yes - he wants to sell this new HiFi concept of course, but you can't help but smile at his creative thinking! As you know, I’ve been to the factory on several occasions and it's truly the best insight into what makes the Bang & Olufsen brand exactly what it is. When you include a trip to the newly opened Museum, and a visit to Quistrup, I’m sure Gavins local customers will find this an offer worth serious consideration.

The fact that Gavin came up with this idea and has been able to pull it off doesn’t surprise me at all – I know him well and he's full of ideas like this! During our chat, he told me that he did the same thing back in 2004. Back then he took every single one of his employees who'd never been to Struer so they could “feel” the B&O way of thinking. Remarkably, this offer extended to 'non customer facing' staff in the administration and accounting departments, and it was the first time any Dealer from outside of Denmark had gone forward with such an idea.

So - if you're in the catchment area of Bang & Olufsen of Lincoln, Leicester or Eccelsall, Sheffield - here is the offer!

    ——-oOo——-

    FACTORY TOUR

    -

For customers who purchase a new BeoSound 5 locally from any of our three stores, we will provide two places on an exclusive visit to Bang & Olufsen’s factory in Denmark. This unique experience also encompasses an historic perspective of the 80 year history of the brand in the fabulous Struer Museum which re-opened in 2008. The experience includes flights to Aarhus, all transfers, a twin room at the Grand Hotel, Struer, a tour of the Factory, entrance to the Struer Museum and all meals at Bang & Olufsen.

We also intend to take you to Quistrup, where Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen made their first products in 1925. The date of the tour is expected to be during the 2nd week in June but is dependant on the availability of Quistrup. Your opportunity to visit the factory is available to you upon purchase of BeoSound 5 prior to and including 13th May 2009. No speaker purchase is necessary.

    ——-oOo——-

So there you have it, it’s a reborn idea, but in our view a great one. If you can resist almost everything except temptation ! Where do you sign ? Contact any of the three stores at the top of this announcement by clicking on the hyperlinks!!

That is quite an incentive! The Beosound 5 is getting better and better and now is the time to buy before the price increase. Add a trip to Struer and it is difficult not to see this as the offer of the year. Shame the dates don't suit me or I would definitely consider this! Besides, going soon by car! (About the price of a BS5 !)

I think this was first mentioned on this site early last month but it is certainly worth mentioning again for those considering a BS5.

It is some offer especially given the current difficult trading conditions!

I have considered it but decided upon a bottle opener insteadWhistle

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Re: Trip to Struer - all expenses paid?

Great idea; I stopped by the B&O site in Struer this week, it 'happened' to be on our one week camper-tour through Danmark this week! My wife thought is was strange to stop at 'a factory', but we did anyway. To be honest it was a bit disappointing because there is not that much to see if you can't go in. We where there on the first of May in the afternoon, the factory personnel was already gone and we spoke to a couple of friendly B&O people, but of course no change to see more this way.

The offer described above is therefore a very good idea in my opinion!

    Regards,

    Bieele

This is really a good initiative, and the opportunity to buy not only an object, but discover the B&O-world from the inside !

The visit to Struer is really amazing, and I think local customers have to seriously consider this offer.

Congratulations to Gavin Sykes ! Yes - thumbs up

    A very tempting offer.

Beoworld's twenty-eighth ninth prize winner and fifty-first second prize winner. Best £30 I've ever spent!
