    Powerlink installation

Quick question; what would be the suggested way of installing powerlink cable; ring or star installation? What are the thoughts here?

    Re: Powerlink installation

Well, not really. Reason for asking is that my first initial thought was to install a serial powerlink installation for BL8000. But while there are plenty of space I thought of why wiring a star net instead. Also I'm considering in the near future to add a BL2 and noticed that the BL8000 is needed to be looped via BL2; hence the thoughts of wiring a star net instead of a serial.

It is not necessary to loop through the BL2 if you have a BeoVision with Surround Sound. I do not know if that is an option for you. Smile

    Re: Powerlink installation

Using BeoVision with Surround Sound isn't an option for me since I don't have that; so looping via BL2 is still needed as far as I understand.

    Thanks for the mention!

Yes, I'm happy to help.  The wiring arrangement for both Powerlink and Masterlink can be done via either ring or star topology, but the good news is that in both cases it doesn't matter.  As long as you get the wiring correct (ie. match the correct wires all through the installation) and get the connections secure (ie. no loose joints) then you are free to use whatever wiring layout works for your living arrangements.

Some installers have preferred wiring layouts, but the main issue is to get good connections and to keep them accessible for future reference, in case you ever have a system fault, or if you wish to make any changes.

Any questions, please feel free to ask!

    Best regards,

    Steve.
