    Beocenter 9000 and MasterLink

Is it possible to connect a Beocenter 9000 to an existing MasterLink with the primary reason to access a BeoMedia 1 or BeoPort unit and would then the BeoLink 1611 converter do the trick?

Pretty sure it won't work, as to use Beoport you need a compatible audio master. This I believe is because the required drivers are in the audio master.

Would make any difference that the primary MasterLink unit is a BS9000 and that the BC9000 would be a "slave" unit just pulling the audio via BS9000?

Not sure you would be able to set it as a slave. One thing I do know is you cannot set a Beocenter 9000 to option 0 (Disable the I.R. reception) Had this problem myself when I owned one. It was masterlinked to my BV3. If I was listening to a CD it would jump 2 tracks at time. Or if I entered a track number, eg 2. It would come up on the display as 22.

    Re: Beocenter 9000 and MasterLink

Well, there isn't any need to disable the IR reception since the BC9000 is located at 1st floor and the BS9000 including BeoMedia 1 is located at the ground floor. While I might not be able to control BeoMedia I would assume that I can get the audio (net music) via the MasterLink and then via the 1611 converter I should be able to get the audio output to BC9000, or?

Update: To follow-up on above question; but what kind of connectivity is possible betwen MasterLink and DataLink?

    Re: Beocenter 9000 and MasterLink

If you want to just use the Beocenter 9000 as an amp for another floor. Just connect the two with a 5 Pin DIN, from Aux to Aux.

So what you're saying is that BC9000 is not really capable to be integrated any usefull in a ML-network?

Well the Beolink converter will translate between Datalink and Materlink. Although I don't know how it would work in that setup.

And the converter you're referring to is the 1611 unit? Well, I can always give it a try and see what kind of connectivity I'm able to get.
