    UK Dealers

Just doing some research, Looking to buy a few things from the UK dealer.

Can anyone recommend a few UK dealers that don't mind shipping internationally?

I think they will all do it provided you cover the freight and insurance.
I have used Sykes (B&O Lincoln) who were always very helpfull sending me gear all over the place.

I was told that a UK dealer wasn't authorised to provide B&O equipment outside of the UK. I'm not saying that a dealer couldn't do it 'under the radar', but they're not supposed to start shipping products across continents.

I thought about this too. The pound is quite cheap at the moment. For instance:

    Beovision 8 - 26inch costs 2600 eur in Holland

same set in the UK costst 1850 Gbp which calculates to about 2030 eur.

    That's quite a discount!

I think a B&O dealer within Europe refusing to supply someone in another European country is against EU law.

Furthermore, I think warranty must now also be Europe wide for goods purchased within Europe.

However you should act quickly, if enough people on mainland Europe start making savings by buying from the UK because of the weak pound then B&O will just increase its UK prices Ick!

    Some of my B&O: BV3/32, MX7000, MX5500, LX5500, MX4000, BM8000, BM6000, Overture, BL8000, BM6000 Quad, BM4400, BM3400, BG-CDX, BM3000, BM1001, BM1200, BM1600, BM1700, BM1500, BM1400, BM2400, BM2300, BM4500, BM4000, BVM70, BVS45-2, BVS60, BC7700, BM2200, BM1900, BG8002, BM1202, BVPenta, BVP45

I don't think the EU law is that strict - the dealers may be forced to sell to anyone, but I'm sure they aren't forced to deliver anywhere - especially when they aren't advertising international delivery in the first place.

    You're right with the warranty.

    Re: UK Dealers

As far as i am aware, the B&O franchise agreement stipulates that all products sold must include basic installation. I think that was put there to circumvent the mentioned EU laws myself..

However, i fully support people saving money!  The pound is as weak as a newborn kitten at the moment, and my own currency was the Euro i'd be doing exactly the same. In support of EU dealers, i must say that buying something like a BV7-40 that needs a software update at least three times a week would be a gamble from another country. Building a good relationship with your dealer can be worth more than a saving sometimes - it's something to consider at least..

Not if you live in another EU land who said no to €! Sad

Edit: The crying smiley doesn't work, so I had to change to the sad smiley.
