The end of set top boxes?

Do U think set top boxes will soon not be needed as TV sets will have the internet connection?

I do not think soon, because internet is for the average consumer not USER friendly. See how telephone communication skype develops now with the average user.

For the coming years I think most set top boxes will be integrated in the TV/media device because there seems to be an industry standard now. See also the European MHP standard (Multimedia Home Platform).

Do U think B&O will integrate a standardized set top boxe in a TV soon?

The problem is not B&O. Cable companies want to tie the customer... and in order to see their programmes you have to use their propriety set top boxes. These companies are anti standard... and it stinks...

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

I agree! Does the STB box plastic remote also stink?
