    Security camera integration

It seems that there was a way of integrating a security camera at one point into a B&O video system ( someone approaches the door or rings the bell). I've searched the threads and looked at the manuals and can't find any references. Does any one know of any known integration by design? I've got a BS3 and BS1.

    Re: Security camera integration

Security cameras can be viewed from most modern BeoVisions - they will all have Composite inputs which are activated by adding "CAMERA" to the Beo4 remote controller.

Many like this setup - if the doorbell rings they can immediately switch onto the CAMERA channel and see who's there! Those with PiP functionality can ever watch normal television with a tiny box in the top corner of their picture showing the exterior view - very handy!

The easiest way I've seen this done, though, was through a security camera linked to the home's RF (Co-Ax) aerial system - it simply came through like any other TV channel.

Simple to setup as well (apparently) - just run a cable out from the camera's master unit, and into the splitter for the home!

One of our members Jandyt has this setup at home with his Beovision Avant. Pretty sure he will post an answer for you.

    Re: Security camera integration

    I have indeed.
I have a wireless camera watching my car and front entrance at all times. The receiving unit goes into the Avant via the RCA connectors at the top rear of the set.
As Matt said before, I just added 'Camera' to my Beo4, and press that if someone rings the doorbell or I hear noises outside. On a busy Friday or Saturday night, I can record what the camera sees and hears on the VCR in m y Avant.

The downside is that the RCA plugs take precedence over all other inputs, so pressing any video source button on Beo4 (or any other B&O remote) whilst in standby, will bring up the camera first. I can live with that though.

Actually, when we lose our analog signal later this year, my A9 keyring will still be used to bring the camera onto the screen.

    Re: Security camera integration

For a solution as elegant and integrated as our own, check our Siedle. We sell them here in the states through some of our shops and they are often the ideal solution for someone who has settled on B&O for AV as it meets many if not all of the same criteria. They integrate very well whether you use them with telephones or video systems.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me. If it will be to the benefit of all, we'll discuss it here.
