    BC2 - strange behaviour

    Hello all,

My approx-4-years-old BC2 started behaving strangely last week: when pressing LOAD to eject a DVD, the "wings" would open but the clamper would stay down (one could hear something as if a motor was running, but no move). When pressing LOAD again (or the red dot) in an attempt to close everything and start again, the clamper would open up, then go down again before the "wings" close ! Believe me, it makes changing a disc almost impossible, like some sort of a stupid game!

It would do it again and again, until the other day when I noticed the disc had got changed. I asked the wife who replied (you know, with the sort of smile that gets you rely worried...) that she "helped the clamper, a little bit..."!!!

Believe it or not, it's been working fine since...

    Any idea what's going on?

    Thanks in advance

The motor operates a gearbox. I guess a gear had slipped somehow. Clearly your wife has fixed it!! Laughing

    Thanks Peter,

I had no doubt she has many skills... Whistle but still, is it likely that someting is damaged inside, that it will repeat again shortly, or should I not worry too much?

I would only be concerned if it happened again. The service manual is available!!
