With the Beosound 5 out, is it time for some great deals on the Beomedia 1??

Well, the question is clear, would you buy a Beomedia 1 (at a reduced price) and put the dream of a Beosound 5 on hold a while?

I personally haven't got the money for a beosound 5, but a used beomedia 1 is within reach. Will it integrate with a MX6000? Or is the Beomedia 1 a dead end (now more than ever)?

    best regards

    Christian

I am not sure many people have been happy with their Beomedia1...

I'm very happy with my Beomedia, since to date, I don't have such advanced expectations for use in link systems or music management.  The photos, Net music and web are just great, as far as I'm concerned.

I think it depends on what you expect.  I think many expected more than Beomedia was intended to deliver.

The Beosound 5 is missing a CD slot!?

This means that when putting in music you need to use a computer?

Disappointed.  No point with it. This should be an all alone music system, and In my opinion the option to play a CD without ripping it should be left. And not only trough having multiple boxes. Thought this was B&O idea from the start.

Someone please tell me there's a CD slot?

Re: With the Beosound 5 out, is it time for some great deals on the Beomedia 1??

i have had my beomedia 1 now for a few years and to be honest it does what it says on the tin.

it strugles with video taken from my digital camera and high res picks can take a little longer to load than when it first came out and i mad a 1 megapixel camera.

it woudl be nice if they updated the software so you can see album covers while you use your remote to scroll through the songs like beoplayer software does on the PC. (maybe who knows)

the beomedia 1 is brill but i must admit i have 5000+ songs on it and with so many i get lost looking for music so i can see BS5 will be great if you like to see covers but i wont be rushing to buy one as beating the queue with bang and olufsen seems to mean your the test dummy for their software and i wont be doing this again as the beocare attitude is terrible.

    enough ranting

beomedia 1 is a good bit of kit, alwasy remember though that is a computer in the end and getting old now.
