BeoSound 9000 . CD is not working. Any hints?

    Hello BeoWorlders,

yesterday the CD section of my beloved Beosound 9000 MK II quit working.
The clamper section moved to each disc, the light works, the clamper "grabs" the disc, but the the CD (the motor) doesn't rotate. I hear 3 or 4 very gentle clicks (ca. 1 per second), then the display shows "Pause".

I turned it off with the red button, cleaned the 2 sensors and blowed some air behind the clamper. But: same problem.

Has anybody of you guys an idea, what the problem is? Do I need a new CD drive? Do I have to bring my BS9000 to the B&O-doctor?

    Thanks, JOV

Thanks for your quick answer! I tried to clean the lens with a microfuse cloth.
But it doesn't work (ok, I don't know, if I did it right without taking the whole piece apart...).
A cleaning disc will not work, too, because the disc wouldn't start spinning.

BTW.: I have read the other posts concerning this problem and did all the hints before writing this new post. As I understood it right, in most of the other errors the discs started spinning but the CDs were not detected as a CD so the players turned into pause.

My discs (all slots) do not spin.

    Thanks, JOV

Maybe the motor spinning the disc has failed?

Isn't the B&O CD mechanisms philips? So that shouldn't be a problem to fix.
