    Beocom 6000

Recently developed noise and crackling on my telephone line. It is intermittant and occasional but so annoying.

Checked via BT website and no fault so any ideas what this could be?

The crackling does affect all phones which are registered against the same pstn.

    thanks!!

    Re: Beocom 6000

I am no expert, but it could be crackling to do with ADSL. Do you have a filter fitted?

Also my broadband wireless router installed near to my PSTN base sometimes causes crackling interference.

I think BT recommend fitting a standard wired phone into your master socket and if the crackling is present then it's a BT problem. If not then it's internal.

Hope this helps. Otherwise I'm sure someone will have more technical info!

    Best wishes,

    John

I also sometimes get interference - best to get the PSTN as far away from other wires eg broadband etc - but I guess is a problem in most homes today that are heavily wired
