    Beosystem 6500

    I need help.My CD and Tape recorder would not open. Any solution.

    Take the top off and investigate! Did it happen suddenly or have you just got them? The tops are held by two clamps at the back - they should be marked on a diagram underneath the units. Loosen them and the top slides forward a bit and then lifts off.

    I have them for 20yrs. It happened suddenly. Everything functions but I cannot open them to play new Cd or Tape.

    Seems strange that both go at the same time. I take it that you have done the switch off at mains for 5 minutes trick? Is there any click when you press the open side?

    On occasion, I have seen pieces in that family in which the switch that activates the door/drawer has slipped out of position to the left or right.  If this is the case then it is a relatively cheap fix, but it is a good opportunity to have the whole unit checked out.
