    BS3 Configuration and Speaker Placement

    Hi All,

I'm just curious how everyone has their BS3 configured. I'm thinking of the following:

BS3, using BL9's as front and BL3's as rear. Question, can i daisy the BL9's off each other so as to only

consume one PL on the BS3 or do they each need to be directly connected. As the BL3's only have one

PL i take it these need to be connected directly to the BS3......OR could i have the BL9's each connected

and the BL3's daisy of them? If the latter is possible how do i configure this on the BS3?

I'm also looking to connect my BS4 with BL8000's via masterlink to the BS3, will the BS3 be able to control

the 8000's and use them for 7.1 or even other AV connections? The 8000's are currently directly connected

    to the BS4.

Sorry if this all came out a bit jumbled......my mind is all over the place ;-)

    Thanks for your input.

    Ash.

You can use one PL socket for both BL9's and one socket for both BL3's

Powerlink speakers kan be parallel connected fron and right, i only use 2 PL sockets to drive my 4 BL8000's

Just run one MKIII powerlink cable to speaker 1, and then from speaker 1 run a cable to speaker 2. Just remember to use MK3 cable, as it holds an ekstra cable to Icepower speakers.

Then it is just a matter of running the speaker configuration in BS3, and select speaker type/role. There is left/right signal in all the PL sockets in BS3, so just make sure to select L/R on your speakers.

You can only daisy speakers with the "same" role, that is 2 front speakers can daisy each other, and the two rear speakers can daisy.

Hmmm, as i write this i am wondering if perhaps the BS3 actually CAN daisy f.ex front left and rear left in one PL socket, i dont think it is possible, but maybe it is woth a try :) I dont think its possible.

    About the BS4 and BL8000's i don't know.

Yes, I think you can do that with the BS3, not with a BV7-32 for example.

On the BS3, you could have 4 speakers, and depending if you are in cinema mode or not, you can have a totally different configuration of speakers, where the 2 left speakers, become front speakers for example.

Yes off course, i thought so, and should no, i was thinking on my old 7-32 where the PL sockets are labeled front-left and so on :)

On my BS3 i have daisy'ed the front and rear speakers, but off course it is possible to daisy the front left end rear left as well.

'one socket for both BL3's'......how can i do that? They don't have more than one PM connector.....

Create your own cable, just cut the factory connector at the first BL3, buy a new connector at your dealer, then connect the cable from BS3 and the cable to the second BL3 in that connector.

Powerlink cables contains both Left and Right signal.

Otherwise you can ask your dealer to make a cable for you, but it is not that hard, just make sure the wires are connected to the right pins.
