    Beogram 8000 is possessed!

I have a Beogram 8000 that doesn't get a lot of use, but I leave it hooked up just in case.  This morning I thought I heard the needle mechanism lift, and I look at the table and the platter is spinning so fast that I couldn't even see the plastic ribs which support the LP.  I started pushing buttons to no avail, and literally had to pull the plug to get it to stop. Of course, now it won't power up.

Has anyone ever run across something like this before? Any ideas?

     Thanks -

It sounds like something in the electronic circuits has shorted out! Take it to a B&o technician, and it hopefully won't be an expensive repair... you wouldn't think so really.

Is there an easy way to check and see if a fuse has blown?  I thought the transformer popped out fairly easily on these.

perhaps go in to the technical part of the forum! :)

Go to the start of the forums where there is the list of forums, then select 'the workbench' i'm sure someone can provide the answers there...
