    New CEO on BBC News

Don't ask me why I was looking TV at 5.50 in the morning... but on BBC News, there is a economic segment called World Business Report.

They are talking of the Credit Crunch and after talking about properties, and small UK Businesses, they are talking about B&O and their current struggle. They showed several products in a showroom and a short interview of the new CEO.

The interviewed another person, who I am not sure if he belongs to B&O. He said we are use to get better quality and lower prices, so that it was the challenge at the moment. I hope that is B&O's new CEO's view. It would be a good news if he wants to lower prices!

I am sure you can catch this segment of BBCNews again during the day or BBC iPlayer...

Don't think lowering prices will help solve the situation though. That will totally upset the people who already bought the products. Main thing is to give all the products a quality boost. I will never mind if B&O needs to have their manufacturing done in China if they produce unsurpassed product quality and  have greener regulations.

I suppose one way of looking at thing is that if B&O reduced all components by 25%, then even though our existing products had a far lower trade-in value, at least the new products would be 25% lower.

For instance, if my BV7-40 MKIII was reduced to £6.5K, it meant that the BV4 would also be reduced, so when I decide to upgrade, the price between trade-in and retail will be the same as it is now.

However, I can't see it happening. They've just increased prices in the UK. Why would they suddenly reduce them?

Maybe the answer is payment planning. I wouldn't have been able to purchase my original BV7-32, without the initial 12-month payment plan.

I think what might happen is that you see more reasonable priced products lke the BV8. So new products would be introduced with lower prices, not existing ones lowered. Even though it happened and will happen every now and then. See BS3, the mobile phones and so on.

Its the speakers that have gone up but i think the flat screen policy of B&O will have to be in sharp review.

With many new LCD sourced from China we should see prices 30% less than they are now-unless B&O get very greedy and ask the same money when they source for about 10th of the retail price- if they do that - they are doomed!
