Great Deck. Try tracking to half way through the record and see if the problem happens again, turn the deck off etc.  Even move the arm backwards and forwards a few times, you don't need a record on to do this. It could be that the arm is not tracking at the correct speed, the caps have gone....

Watch the stylus thru the opening above it-does it stay centered as the arm tracks the record? Or does it move noticeably laterally, esp w/an off center disc. I've experienced such a problem and it related to the positioning of the "reader" arm in such a way that when the tonearm was released and on the record, there wasn't enough lateral free-play in the tonearm towards the outside of the record because the back of the tonearm was blocked by the back of the reader arm. The reader arm was @90* to the trackrods and parllel to the tonearm at rest-what it's supposed to be. The cure was to re-adjust the reader arm carefully so that it was as far to the inside on its adjusting screws as could be, yet still @90* to base. You can check tonearm compliance with a little hook made of a paperclip: while a record is tracking, lift the arm off the record with the paperclip and see if you can swing it towards the outside of the record-should be able to go 10-15* from tangent with no resistance.  phil
