    TX 2 but with problems

I recently found a TX 2 in my dads garage and when I tried it out the motor was making a ticking sound, sure it works, but is there any way to replace this motor? Or oil it up a tad?

I take it that it is definitely the motor? Take the drive belt off and run it for a while and see if it fixes itself.

Common fault with these motors I'm afraid.

The only option is to look for a scrap tuntable with the same motor as there are no replacement ones out there that I know of. Suitable donors are BG1800 to 5000 series (from the 1980's), RX, TX, all the later tangential tracking models (3000 to 9500) and the beocenter 2200. You may need to swap the pully depending on the donor deck but these simply pull off.

    Chris.

Actually heres what I did. I took the motor off, on the bottom of it there was this rubber dot, i scratched that off, and then it was plastic. I got a super small drill bit and went like 1/4 of an inch inside the motor. Got some household oil and put some drops in there and now 90% of the ticking sound it gone!
