If you look closely you'll see the top one is a little lighter in color.  The problem is that B&O probably does what many other manufacturers do - use one photograph, and then photoshop the different colors on.  An actual photo of them in someone's room would probably be a more realistic interpretation.  Nothing against B&Ola of course.

Thanks!  That is just what I thought. Anybody have any actual pictures of Beolab 9s in dark gray?  Or any other Beolabs in that color?

I have the dark grey lab 9's - they are no way near as dark as that mediacenter image though! I'd class them as above mid-grey, but no way near black. They're used next to a silver BV7-40 and look fine.

Thanks. Trying to decide if I want to replace the black on our 9s with gray  to match our gray BV7.

    Re: gray Beolab 9

It's a lot of money (£400/total?) for a different colour speaker. The grey leans more towards black than it does white, if that helps! ie. it's in the darker end of the grey spectrum.

If you take a look at the loudspeaker options on this page:

    http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=10

The grey BL9 on here looks exactly like mine - it's that colour. The BL5 next to it is black.

Oh, actually, if you look at that BL9 picture above (in this thread), the grey BL9 in the background also looks the same as my dark grey speakers. So, the colour representation is correct.

Yes, you are right, it is a lot of money. The reason we are considering it is that we just received our new dark gray BV7 and are very unhappy that the gray on the BL7-4 is a completely different color than the gray on the BV7-40. We had wanted, and expected, the two to match, as on the web site and as the silver and black models we have seen do. Dealer wants to make us happy and we are considering switching to a silver BV7/BL4 or maybe just asking for new grills so at least the three front speakers would match, even though the BV7 would still be a different color.

    Re: gray Beolab 9

That was the primary reason I went for the 'all aluminium' look for my BV7-40 and BL7.4. Plus, you can put any coloured speaker next to this setup and it works, visually.

The other day I saw a dark grey BV7-40, black BL7.4 and black BL9's and that worked quite well, I thought. Mind you, I suppose it all depends on the location of the TV, shading, lighting etc.

We had considered a black BL7-4 but did not think it would look good. Might have to rethink that after hearing your thoughts on such a set up.
