Just got my hands on a Beogram 8002 that has problem in that when it is hooked up to the Beomaster 6000, it will turn with the tone arm starting to move a few mm towards the record, then it immediately moves back. I can sometimes set the speed, and sometimes it just seems to crash. Is this a CPU problem, and is it fixable?

Mine started doing this - Tim has just fixed it! Lots of capacitors, just for a change!

That was the same thing my Beogram 8002 did at some point.

Push play and it goes to start and back again. If pushing play a few times more it would play normaly. In the end it started to skate across the records so that was it as far as using it.

The cure? Dillen fixed it. Caps, adjusments, soldering etc. CPU's one these Beograms seldom goes wrong and must be a sort of standard B&O shop lingo for a reasonable logic why we can't fix this solution. Sad but true. They can't blame it on the tacho disc either.

It still plays great 7 months later with no faults.

The one I have won't even play! Hopefully it will be paying a visit to Tim Jarman after I spoke to him yesterday. Am really looking forward to the day I can push play for the first time and use this lovely deck :)
