I've recently accquired a pair of these fantastic looking monsters that cosmetically are in great condition - a little bit of work is needed (and I do mean a little) to get them excellent/mint. Internally, the woofer dust-caps perished a long time ago and it sounds to me as though the woofers are history. One (curiously) of the wire mesh covers for one of the midrange units has surface corrosion on it. They're going to cost too much (for me) to bring them back to their original glory. I shall be mortified if I end up taking them to the tip. Can someone please help and take them off my hands? I would be willing to travel 50 or so miles out of Nottingham to meet up to hand them over.

I have  spare pair of bass drivers, should they be required, they will need dust caps but they are in good working order.

Anyone hapen to have a spare tweeter for the 5700?

I do have some, but they're in use in another pair of speakers. Not hard to come by though, they were a popular unit at the time I believe.

I haven't been to come across any!! I just need one. My 5700 are otherwise mint!!

If I come across another (which I'm sure I will, I have seen them in other speakers which were skipped) I'll get one for you.

Note that two different versions of the Beovox 5700 exists (types 6229 & 6253), different midrange drivers are used and what seems to be a nice mix of Norelco and Philips woofers but the tweeter is the same.

Really? I thought it was a Seas driver, which I've seen in other speakers. Two visually identical driver designs then?

I've seen the driver used in a three-way version of the Goodmans Minister loudspeakers. I have a pair of Goodmans Ministers myself, but the two way versions, and use different drivers. Goodmans produced two versions of the Ministers, both were very different in terms of driver arrangement and choice.
