    Beolab 2 vs B&W PV1

I was in a B&W store this weekend (helping a friend) and was very impressed by the performance of the PV1 subwoofer.  Has anybody compared it directly with a BL2?  Anybody switched from a BL2 to PV1?

    Thank you

    Hi Turbotol,

B&W PV1 was my alternative if I had not bought my current BL2. It uses the Ice Power amplification and is also good looking.

Did not hear this one in the flesh though.

The Bowers & Wilkins PV1 blows the BL2 out of the water in all aspects.
This is a serious piece of audio machinery, it's aesthetics are alot more minimalistic and... IT'S HALF THE PRICE.

The BL2 is a handsome boy with ADHD as the PV1 is a smooth talking salesman. Go and see/ hear it for yourself.

But it doesn't have Powerlink sockets and is 500W as opposed to 850. Have you heard the two compared? I would love to see a side by side comparison.

Powerlink does not make it sound or look any different. Wattage is not always a factor in determining better sound from a speaker.

Somebody should do that, a comparison. Arrange it through a B&O store, i'm predicting it would be an embarrassing day for the BL2.

True, but Powerlink makes it easier to connect - important with active speakers that require shielded cables - and although I agree wattage is not everything, it doesn't hurt. I would want to hear them side by side before pre-judging.

I haven't done a side by side comparison, but the PV1 does sound better. More detailed, and better at following fast basslines. BeoLab 2 goes louder/deeper though.
