Peter, do you know something we don't about a higher spec BV8? In answer to your question though, I'm not really excited on the prospect of a higher spec BV8 as I happily bought my BV8 with the 'simple' functions it offered so long as it had the possibility of ML as well which it does. Furthermore, I see BV6 / BC6 as the higher spec BV8. Am I missing something here? Nice to have a fresh topic going, and I hope I haven't come across as rude.

The large(er) BV8 40 is supposed to have a "real" B&O chassis (i.e. with surround), the current BV8 models will not be upgraded to this chassis.

Does a bigger fully specced BV8 interest anyone though?" Now, THIS sounds interesting... I just bought this wonderful set in white and I'm very happy with it. It is, however, so "small" looking, that it is a total surprise to me that I could live with a bigger (-looking ) as well. Therefore, I'm eager to learn some more...
I know exactly what you mean by 'small looking' as every time ive seen it, for some strange reason the whole set looks 'small'. Although i would love the small looking 32" in white in my front room. A 40" or 42" fully loaded would be very interesting.

I have a slight feeling that the BV8-32 will sooner of later will also receive a surround upgrade. The BC1 and MX8000 at the end also were capable of adding a surround module. Maybe in time... Karel
The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

Peter :As Ignace says, think bigger and with lots of connections! A main room set seems to be on the cards! The present ones will stay as link room sets.
I really hope this is true! This could be the product I am looking for to replace the avant in my current surround sound setup (with projector). Tell us more, tell us more!!! Bieele

I suppose the question is: What would you like to see on a bigger BV8?

I'd like 37 or 40 in screen. Enough high quality inputs and IR blasters to support a) STB b) DVD c) AppleTV and gaming console + one more just in case). MasterLink. Surround Sound as an *option* (I don't want surround sound, but I can see why others would). Great speakers (good enough so that external speakers are not necessary for casual listening). Great picture (with automatic adjustment for room lighting - my room has lots of windows). Actually, I would probably buy the BV8 just like it is today (1 HDMI and no tuner) if only it were 37 or 40 inches - my room is quite large, but not conducive to a full surround system, and having ML would sort out my beolink active problem (as it would no longer be necessary for this application). Then again, I'd definitely buy the above (assuming it's price is closer to $5K than $10K). Stan

A number of HDMI ? Yes, But looking at what I now have and what might be aheadm needed. The current BV8 ML and Audio features are already excellent. Any improvements are most welcome. The current BV8 ML and Audio features are already excellent. Any improvements are most welcome.

Next to current specs, addition of: 37-40 inch screen Full HD Dolby Digital / DTS module (standards or option) Price Tage 4000-5000 euro This way B&O the BV8 could become a great product! Bieele

Flappo The Grate: is that really the spec ?
Nah, think it's just a wish list. Looks like the specification from a Philips TV. Don't know which one, but the specs lists from Philips looks exactly like that. An example.
Beovision LX5500, BeoCord V6000, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 3500, BeoLab 2000, BeoVox1, BeoCom 6000, Form1, LightControl 1

One more important question: When will it be available? Or is this the most unpredictable question in the B&O world? Bieele

Ignace:Autumn 2008
= Spring 2009 Considering that the BV8 40" will be a main room TV and will offer more and better connections and options, how much cheaper will it be than a BV7 32" or a BV7 40"? This will be very interesting news.

Alex:And much better sound maybe with an built in surround emulator for the built in speakers.
Would/could this use f.e. the built-in speakers as centre speaker whilst the external Beolab speakers would be used for Front L+ R, and so on ?
