beocord 2000 belts replaced but will not stay on play.

I have just inherited a Band O sound set up . It has hadly been used and dates back to the 1980,s  Th beocord 200 cassette player did not work so I have stripped it and replaced the belts. Unfortunately when you press play , forward or reverse , the solenoid clicks in and the clicks straight out again.

On the Beogram amplifyer and tuner the touch sensitive balance and tone adjusters do not seem to operate. Any advice gratefully received. Pat

    Welcome to Beoworld !

Did you replace all three belts ?

It sounds as if the belt for the motion sensor is bad or not in.

The balance and tone controls are not touch sensitive. They are sliders found under the large top cover. Press the word "Programming" on the extreme left side of the front rail and the lid springs up.

Is that the smallest of the three, I was told it was for a counter that was not needed and BO could not provide one so it is not fitted, where can I get on from? Thanks for the info. Pat
