Hi all - i'm hopefully going to buy a 2000 model (Serial Number 14......) 32" Avant VCR for my lounge. I will be connecting it to a Virgin Media STB and my Sony DVD recorder. It has the STB controller but whats the odds it will need a SW update and approx how much will a dealer charge me to do this? Cheers all - Dave.

i think that they will require a local visit to your place, and with the upgrade its approx £90.

Chances are that your VM box will be ok, just look for PACE xxx or PACE NTL. That works on mine.

Make sure that you have it on the decoder scart and in the setup menu have it as SAT(SAT) or something like that.
